Corsica, France is an island divided into two administrative regions one being the region of high Corsica, whose capital is Bastia and has a population of about 145,000 inhabitants of which Corsica of the south has the capital of Ajaccio and is also capital of the island. This one for instance has a population of 130,000 inhabitants. Both north and south regions of Corsica, France are administrative regions whose capital cities are of great importance, and there are numerous things to see.
Starting with the region of the north of Corsica you'll find cities like Bastia who is famous for it's Ciudadela; Corte where the university of Corsica is located; Calvi; Saint Florent and it's small marina; Aleria and it's archeological remains; Ventiseri or Cervione.
From the south of Corsica you'll also enjoy the capital of Ajaccio of about 60,000 inhabitants , and Porto Vecchio. One of the main tourist cities in the island together with Bonifacio and Calvi. |
