The island of Corsica is a paradise island with spacious natural settings, abundant vegetation, a beautiful sea, and mediterrenean climate. This island belonging to France has mass jungles perfect for nature lovers. There are millions of acorn trees and fauna. Speaking of nature in Corsica, France means speaking of the Regional Natural Park of this island where you'll find hundreds of endangered species of fauna and flora. This park was names so in the year 1972.
Other protected natural spaces in Corsica are those of the Gulf of Porto, the Natural Reserve of Scandola (Declared world heritage by the Unesco). The Scandola Reserve was created in 1975 and there are more than 1000 acres from the north of the Gulf Porto, It also occupies 1000 acres of marine park. Fishing Eagles and many other vultures are part of the faun paradise in this park.
The landscapes in Corsica are beautiful. You'll find rivers like Liamone, Prunelli, Gravona, Taravo or Fiumicicoli, as well as lakes like Tolla which measures 1 km2 andis the largest on the island. Other lakes like Brakka is located 2000 meters above sea level and the Lake Figari is the smallest.
Mount Cinto is the highest peak on the island measuring 2706 meters in height, it is only 30kms from the beach and you can usually still see snow on it in the summertime.
In Corsica, France you'll also find other ecological points of interest, the natural beauty, places like the Sanguinarias Island or Lavezzi Islands, virgin beaches like the ones found between cities, and coves and beaches that you can only access by walking.
